Syllabus: 

Characteristics of aircraft structures and materials, introduction to elasticity, torsion, bending and flexural shear, flexural shear flow in thin-walled sections, elastic bucking, failure theories. Variational principles and energy methods, analysis of composite laminates, loads on aircraft, basic aeroelasticity.
