Reduced order modelling of bladed disk for damage detection

The study focuses on prognostics of systems having rotating bladed disks such as jet engine, turbochargers, wind turbine etc. A Reduced order modeling scheme is employed to develop a lumped model of the bladed disk attached on a rotating shaft. The model includes a provision to infuse various types of possible damages in the system like multiple cracks of various dimensions at different location of the blade, foreign object damage, blade erosion and icing. Engine operational loading is simulated and applied to the model to mimic the actual system. Afterwards lumped system deflection is compared for both healthy and damaged state.
