To guide the development of new materials we employ mathematical and computational tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second theme involves investigation of characteristic behavior of slender structures composed of functional materials. The subtle interplay of geometry and material microstructure in slender structures makes this study a fascinating endeavour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\" style=\"font-size:1.2em;font-style:normal;font-weight:300\">Our final aim is to demonstrate the novelty of our materials and structures in the laboratory using experimental techniques.
