Development of Integrated
Software Architecture For
Enabling NDE Based SHM,
Condition Based Maintenance and Logistics
2012-2015
This project aims to develop a software framework around Non-Destructive
Evaluation (NDE) based inspection process by automating certain repeated tasks
(starting from receiving work order to sending out inspection report) and by
providing clear definition to the inspection steps in terms of data, algorithm,
hardware, control and user interface with scope for documentation and
archiving. In this collaborative project, the industry partner Tech Mahindra’s
effort is to develop integration platform in the web, whereas the focus of IISc
is toward integration of NDE technology specific software and processes.
Standard NDE inspection technologies considered are visual inspection and
ultrasonic inspection. The proposed platform aims to provide features that
would enable broader scope of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) addressed by
seamlessly integrating the existing NDE based inspection processes.
